Five-Minute Winter Makeup Routine

Winter mornings can be tough, and sometimes we just don’t have the time (or energy) for a full makeup routine. But that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice feeling put-together! Here’s my go-to 5-minute best winter makeup routine that’s perfect for those busy mornings and makes me feel a little bit more like me. This routine will give you a fresh, glowing look in no time!

makeup essentials for a 5-minute makeup routine

#1. Start with a Hydrating Primer or Lotion

The key to flawless winter makeup is hydration. I always thought my skin was just ‘bleh‘ in winter because of my lack of tan (lol), but I realized it was simply just a lack of moisture! So, I always start with a super hydrating lotion or primer, as well as eye cream.

  • My recommendations: The BEST Eye Cream | Cicaplast B5 | Too Faced Hydrating Primer

#2. Apply a BB Cream

For a quick and easy foundation step, opt for a BB cream or tinted moisturizer. These products offer light coverage and hydration, perfect for winter. I personally love the IT Cosmetics CC cream that provides buildable coverage, SPF 50+ protection, and extra hydrating benefits, making it a one-step wonder for busy mornings. (& Right now it’s $12 off at Sephora!)

  • My recommendation: IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream

#3. Conceal and Brighten

I love a creamy concealer to cover any blemishes and brighten the under-eye area. Choosing a formula that won’t cake or settle into fine lines is essential. Both of these concealers are easy to blend, provide great coverage, and have a brightening effect that’s perfect for tired winter skin.

  • My Recommendations: Haus Labs Hydrating and De-puffing Concealer | Ilia True Skin Serum Concealer

#4. Set Concealer with Powder

To ensure your concealer stays in place and prevents creasing, set it with a lightweight setting powder. This step is essential for long-lasting, crease-free coverage.

  • My Recommendation: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder

#5. Add a Touch of Color with Liquid Blush

Last year I got hooked on liquid blush and that “cold girl skin” we saw all over TikTok. Using more blush than you think and apply it from the temples to under your eyebrows gives you a natural, dewy flush. I love how liquid blush is quick to apply and blend seamlessly!

  • My recommendations: Armani Liquid Blush | Rare Beauty Blush

#6. Define Your Brows

The power of well-groomed brows on your face frame your face and can make a big difference in your overall look. I use two products most days, both are under $20 too!

  • My Recommendations: Maybelline Build-A-Brow | L’Oréal Brow Lamination

#7. Apply Mascara for Lifted Lashes

A few coats of mascara can instantly open up your eyes and make you look more awake. Opt for a lengthening and volumizing formula.

  • Recommendation: Ilia Volumizing Mascara

#8. Finish with a Hydrating Lip Balm or Gloss

My lips get chapped super easily, especially in winter and I will tell you – I’ve tried EVERYTHING out there. and this trio is one that I swear by!

  • My Recommendations: Fresh Sugar Lip Scrub | Carmex | Forget the Filler Plumpling Gloss
