Visiting Portland or a local looking for the perfect date night restaurant for you and your loved one? This guide shares my favorite Portland date night spots that my husband and I have been to again and again.

Quick context: My husband and I no longer live in Portland, Oregon, and I wasn’t always a blogger. This new side hustle began as a way to cope with the challenges of adjusting to life in Switzerland. In Portland, I never felt the need to make posts like this, and to be honest it didn’t even cross my mind. But as time passes, our ‘home‘ here still doesn’t feel like home, and I find myself reminiscing about our time in Portland. Our life was good, comfortable, homey, delicious, and oh so fun!
For a while, I thought it was silly to be stuck in the past, but I can’t shake it. Portland was a beautiful home for us, and I hope we can return one day. To help myself process these feelings, I’ve found that sharing beautiful (and delicious) spots has been therapeutic. I can honestly say that none of our date nights here have felt the same as those in Portland, and it makes me sad. I miss wandering around SE Portland, grabbing a beer at a brewery, enjoying pasta, and finishing the night with a glass of wine in a romantic outdoor bar.
So, here are some spots I love and know you will too. These are just a few of my Portland date night spots I personally love (and there are so many more!).

One of the coolest aspects of Portland is its farm-to-table culture. Many restaurants source their ingredients from nearby farms, ensuring that every bite is bursting with flavor. This commitment to quality shines through in every dish. And let’s not forget about the food carts! You can find everything from gourmet grilled cheese and Korean BBQ to vegan ice cream and authentic Thai street food. These food carts are scattered all over the city, creating little hubs of deliciousness where you can grab a quick bite or sample multiple cuisines in one go.

Want to end your date night in the best way possible? Head over to Fifty Licks and enjoy their ice cream (and vegan ice cream) flavors! Their Burnside location just faced a horrible fire, so make sure to head to one of their other locations listed above to give them some love and support.
We used to live across the street from Fifty Licks and I will NEVER take that for granted again.
Salt & Straw
Locations: They have six in Oregon, three in the city so check them out here!
We’ve been spoiled to live next to a Salt & Straw in both California and Oregon and it’s way too good. Their scraps are HUGE, and they feature monthly specials so you will never run out of new flavors to try. They also have dairy-free options!
