My Spring Routine, Outfits I am Loving, and New Habits

As we are a few weeks into spring I thought this was the perfect time to share with you what I’m wearing, how I’m starting my days, the foods I am loving, and my spring routine that is bringing me back to center.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I’ll receive a commission if you purchase through my link, at no extra cost to you.

I’ve been wanting to share a little more about myself here — and honestly, even saying that feels a tiny bit weird (imposter syndrome?) but it’s been on my mind lately.

When I think about the people I love following — whether it’s on social media, Substack, or through their blogs — they all have one thing in common: they share a mix of everything. They’re personal, relatable, real, and authentic. They’re not hyper-niched or trying to fit into one box. And when I step back and think about it, if I were following me, that’s exactly what I’d want to see too.

This site has already grown in ways I never could have imagined, and I have some big dreams for where it’s headed. One of the biggest? To create a space for the everyday woman who wants it all.

The woman who wants a family and wants to travel.
The woman who loves a fancy dinner out and cooking something delicious at home.
The woman who dresses for herself, who tries new things, who’s always looking for a little more out of life.

That’s who I’m writing for — and I’m so excited to keep building this space with you. So, with that said, this post is a new one focusing on real life things that I am excited to share with you. Please let me know in the comments what you think!

A few weeks into spring, and I already feel something shifting.

It’s hard to explain, but I know some of you will get this. Somehow spring arrives and you start feel a little bit more…alive? That’s where I’m at. Like I am literally growing again. This winter felt long, and not just weather-wise. Slow mornings turned into whole slow days, and I found myself holding tension I didn’t even realize had crept in. But now, I’m finally starting to feel like myself again!

We’ve been traveling way less than usual which is a big change for us, and in that stillness, something really good happened: we’ve been nesting (and not in that way yet). But, our apartment finally feels like ours. Which to be honest I didn’t really think would happen. We’ve gotten rid of old furniture, purchased new items, I’ve bought a dozen plants, and it feels like we have a fresh slate. And with that grounding and freshness came space (literally)—but also space to notice what I’m craving, what I’ve been missing over the last year or so, and what feels so good right now. Who knew your space could have such an impact like that?!

All of this to say that it just feels like I have space to breathe and think again. Switzerland can feel suffocating at times, both society wise and weather wise, the fresh air, bright light, and space in our home feels so refreshing.

What I’m Wearing This Spring (And Why It Feels Like Me Again)

Let’s talk clothes because getting dressed is something I haven’t prioritized in a long time. For months, it’s been leggings and hoodies. And while I’ll never not love cozy outfits, I’ve been craving outfits that make me feel alive again and a little more put together.

To get inspired I recently did one of those color analysis prompts with ChatGPT and turns out I’m a soft autumn — so you can think earthy tones, olive greens, and muted rusts. Whether or not that’s totally accurate, it sparked something. I realized that the colors I feel most me in are warm, grounded, and a little undone. So it makes sense! And in all of this? I remembered that I do like expressing myself through what I wear so I am inspired to do more of that.

After moving to Switzerland, I think I lost a bit of that though. It’s such a culture of blending in, and somewhere along the way, I tucked parts of myself away to fit in better. But this season, I’m reaching for pieces that feel like me— tennis shoes, simple flats, oversized items, and layers.

So here’s what’s on repeat in my spring wardrobe right now:

  • Barrel leg jeans — I love an oversized jean that’s still a little polished. These are so comfy too. Shop here.
  • Soft knits — A super soft sweater, paired with a white t-shirt is my go-to. I actually just bought a few more of these $10 Uniqlo cropped white t-shirts because they are just too perfect.
  • Layers — I love this white button down top for a layered look (like I wore above!)
  • Leather Flats — With it raining less I can finally wear my favorite Everlane leather flats that make me feel comfortable and put together.

My Spring Routine (And How I’m Actually Sticking to It)

I’ve never been a morning person. Left to my own devices, I’ll sip my coffee in bed with my laptop blogging until way too late in the day and call that productive. But lately, I’ve been feeling like my days just disappear. Like I blink and it’s 5 p.m. So I told myself to make one small shift: waking up a bit earlier, but gently.

We have Wiz lightbulbs around our apartment, and my husband set the one in our bedroom to a slow sunrise simulation. Then, we programmed our Sonos speaker to start playing soft, high-energy yoga music as an alarm. It’s the calmest wakeup I’ve ever had—no jolting sounds, no harsh lights. It almost feels like someone’s quietly nudging me out of bed and I *actually* want to get out of bed!

And it’s working! Three weeks in, I haven’t snoozed once. I get up, my husband hands me my coffee, I stretch a little, and actually start my day—rather than rushing into it. It’s made me feel like there’s room again. Room to move through the day instead of chasing it.

What I’m Craving

Spring has me craving nourishment on every level. In our house, we’re in a real cooking season—and I love it. Our local farmers market finally has good items again, and every Saturday, we fill our bags with fresh produce and local meats and I’ve gotten totally inspired!

Here’s what we’ve been making/prepping on repeat:

  • Chia seed pudding — Perfect base for whatever fruit we’re loving that week.
  • Homemade protein granola — A crunchy, slightly sweet topping for yogurt or smoothie bowls. I also add a 1/2 cup of brown sugar (I like mine sweet) instead of the coconut sugar, as well as 1 tsp vanilla, 3 tbs hemp seeds. I will share my own recipe next week!
  • Prepped veggies — We wash and chop everything right away so it’s easy to grab during the week.
  • Whole Roasted Chicken — I made a whole roasted chicken most weeks to eat throughout (think chicken salad, enchiladas, chicken & rice, etc.) This is the recipe I use and it’s THE BEST.

But it’s not just food I’m craving—it’s ritual. It’s the slow Saturday mornings, music in the kitchen, reading while I eat lunch (instead of looking at my phone), eating dinner at the table with candles lit even on a Tuesday. That kind of simple nourishment.

This season feels like a gentle nudge back to myself. A reminder that change can be soft. That feeling good doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing. And that getting dressed, eating well, and creating little rhythms in your day can be a powerful way to say, I’m here. I’m back. I’m okay.

So wherever you’re at this spring—whether you’re still thawing out from winter or already in full bloom—I hope this reminds you to check in with what you’re craving. And to make space for the things that help you feel more like you.

Let me know in the comments what you’re loving this season and your own spring routine. I always love hearing from you. 💛
