What to Wear in Paris in Spring: 6 Chic Outfit Ideas You’ll Love

Packing for Paris in spring can feel a little…confusing. One minute it’s sunny and you’re sipping coffee outside under blooming trees, and the next you’re caught in a surprise downpour wishing you had brought an extra layer. I’ve learned (the hard way) that spring weather in Paris loves to keep you on your toes.

So, that’s why I put together some easy, cute, and practical outfit ideas that actually work for Paris in the spring—rain or shine. Whether you’re exploring Montmartre or people-watching in Saint-Germain, these looks will keep you comfy and feeling like your stylish self.

Flat lay of essential pieces from a spring packing list for Paris, including white jeans, striped t-shirt, white button-down, cardigan, blazer, sneakers, flats, crossbody bag, and wide-leg jeans.

This is the exact list I’m using for my upcoming trip to Paris, and it’s filled with pieces you can mix and match no matter what the weather throws your way. So, if you’re feeling the urge to jet off (same), this post will help you pack confidently and feel cute doing it.

Paris Spring Packing List (Essentials to Include!)

*Look Two is always the cheaper item! I try to link items under $100.

Wide Leg jeans | These are a staple in my spring wardrobe. They’re super flattering, comfortable for long walks, and pair well with everything from tees to blazers. I love wearing mine with a trench and sneakers for a very “off-duty Parisian” vibe. Look One | Look Two

T-Shirt | You’ll want a few basic tees in your suitcase—white, black, and maybe one stripe for a French touch. These are perfect for layering under jackets or wearing solo on warmer days. Look One | Look Two

White Button Down | A must-have! You can wear it loose with denim, tucked into tailored trousers, or layered under over a t-shirt. It adds instant polish to any outfit without trying too hard. Look One | Look Two

Button Down Sweater | This is the layer I reach for daily in the spring. It’s cozy but not bulky, as well as looks cute draped over your shoulders or thrown on over a tee. Look one is a new style from Everlane that is chic and easy to dress up. Look One | Look Two

White Jeans | White denim feels fresh and crisp in the spring, especially in Paris where everyone dresses like they’re effortlessly put together. Style them with a button-down or coupled with a cropped sweater and ballet flats for a day of café hopping. Look One | Look Two

Trench Coat | The Parisian essential of course. It’s chic, functional, and perfect for those moody spring showers. I opt for one that hits mid-thigh or longer and has a belt for that classic silhouette. Look One | Look Two

Black Blazer | This instantly dresses up any outfit—throw it over jeans and a tee for brunch or wear it with trousers for a dinner out. It’s a great layering piece when the weather is unpredictable, as well as makes sure you still look polished. Look One | Look Two

Tennis Shoes | You’ll be walking a ton, so comfy sneakers are a must! I love white leather or retro trainers for a trendy style, yet still super comfortable (we walked 28,000 steps a day in Paris during our last trip!). Look One | Look Two

Cute Flats | These are my go-to shoes after a day of walking and heading out for dinner. They go with everything from jeans to midi skirts and feel perfectly in step with Parisian style. Look One | Look Two

Accessories | These are the small-but-mighty items that can instantly make your outfits feel more styled and intentional!

  • Silk Scarf: One of my favorite Parisian styling tricks. Tie it around your neck, wrist, bag, or even in your hair. It adds that effortless, elegant touch with almost zero effort.
  • Everyday Tennis Necklace: A delicate, sparkly piece that works with every outfit. I wear mine daily—it layers beautifully and instantly makes a simple tee or button-down feel elevated.
  • Chunky Earrings: – I love packing a bold earring to spice up minimal outfits. I love these chunky gold earrings for a bold statement. I also shared a gold and silver pair in my outfits above to tie in both metals depending on your other accessories.
  • Crossbody Bag: I prefer to be hands-free while exploring the city, so I always bring one that’s big enough to fit my phone, wallet, lip balm, and a fold-up umbrella. This is one purse I have that I love! And it’s under $50! It’s a little small on the inside, so if you need something bigger, give this one a try!
  • Belt: A good belt pulls your whole outfit together.
  • Sunglasses: Essential for sunny days and stylish all the time. A classic black pair goes with everything, but I also love a tortoise or cat-eye shape for a fun twist. I always wear a pair to keep my hair out of my face too.

Other Travel Essentials for Paris

Beis Suitcase – A suitcase that’s cute, functional, and fits so much! The built-in compression feature is a game changer for fitting everything while staying organized.

Compact Umbrella – It will rain, so you’ll want a sturdy but small umbrella you can keep in your bag. Trust me, this is one of those items you’ll be so glad you packed. This one is the best and has over 100,000 reviews on Amazon!

Power Adapter – Don’t forget you’ll need a European plug adapter (Type C/E)! Bring one that has multiple USB ports so you can charge everything at once.

Packing for Paris in the spring is really about being prepared but still feeling stylish. Think of it as curating a mini capsule wardrobe of neutral layers and playful accessories. Every piece should work with multiple outfits so you can do more with less—and still look effortlessly chic.

If you’re dreaming of Paris this spring (and let’s be honest, who isn’t?), save this spring packing list for Paris, and you’ll be ready for rain and rosé.
